Obituary of Jim Watters

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of James Leroy Watters, affectionately known as Jim or Jimmy, who left us peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on May 12, 2026, at the age of 87. He was the beloved son of Harry (Ben) Watters and Eva (nee Perry) Stott, remembered for his warmth and kindness. 

Jim was a devoted father to Brent, Rod, Jeff (Lisa), and Cindy, who were the light of his life. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Kyle and Breanne; Ryan and Amy (Kilbourne); and Anthony James (AJ) and Ronin (Carrol). He was a treasured brother to Marion (Barat), Ruth (Brosseau), and Jerry Watters, and he will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews. 

Born on September 9, 1938, in Springfield, Ontario, Jim dedicated many years to serving the community through his work at the County of Elgin Roads Department. His contributions reflect a life well lived, full of hard work, integrity, and sincere care for others. 

A private family interment of ashes will be held. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Aylmer Legion from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated, honoring Jim's spirit of generosity. Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com. 

Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his distinct and entertaining nature will forever remain in our hearts.
