Obituary of Myna James

Myna Grace James

October 31, 1926 – May 17, 2026

Myna passed peacefully on May 17, 2026, in St Thomas, ON. Myna, born October 31, 1926, in Windsor, Ontario, married her beloved husband, the late Maurice, on March 26, 1949.

Myna was a dedicated mother to her daughters, Brenda & Sheila, and mother-in-law to their husbands, Paul & Jeff. She took great pride and joy in her grandchildren and their partners: Jeremy & Gillian, Tiffany & Neville, Kimberly & Alex, Calla & Taylor, and Robin & Stephanie, as well as her great-grandchildren, Tristan & Rosalind, Lee, Grace, Elliott, Rosemary and Lark. As well as her other beloved family and friends, Karen, Fran, Doris, and Sharon.

Myna is survived by her sisters-in-law, Margaret Davies and Betty Davies, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.  She is predeceased by brother Wilfred Jr. & his wife Geraldine Davies, brother Robert Glen Davies, brother Ronald Davies, brother Ted Davies, brother-in-law Stan & his wife Audrey James and sister-in-law Marjorie & her husband Silas Lockey.

Myna’s interests were wide and varied. She was a long-time resident of Aylmer and an avid quilter and crafter. She also enjoyed being part of many groups in Aylmer, such as a Red Hat group, the curling club, the Progressive Conservative Party, a camping club, the fair board, the Kinettes and a lifelong member of the Aylmer Baptist Church. Myna & Maurice travelled extensively together over the years, but her extensive flower gardens always called her home. Her dedication to her family, work ethic and community were commendable. She will be profoundly missed, and her legacy will live on through the lives and institutions she touched through her care and contributions.

Family and friends are invited to join the James family for visitation on Wednesday, May 20 from 6-8 p.m. where a memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 11:00 am from the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, 119 Talbot Street East, Aylmer. Donations to the Aylmer Baptist Church would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.kebbelfuneralhome.com
