I was so sorry to hear of Terry's passing and you all have my deepest sympathies. I met Terry during a conference hosted by the JSO years ago and he teased me about my southern accent the whole time he was here ... he made me laugh and that's the way I will always remember him.

My heart goes out to you all during this difficult time. Terry was one of a kind and was the officer that many of us aspired to be in our policing careers. I will never forget him and what he meant to the OPP and to me personally during my career. He was a true leader and a "get it done" guy when many others just talked about it. I know he loved you all very much and spoke of it many times in my presence. May he rest in peace.

Memories of Terry...where does one begin? Oktoberfest...when he and Gord M. carried those stupid stuffed monkeys around, grabbing all the women, and then scolding the monkeys...for THEIR inappropriate behavior & all the women were laughing too hard to think of pressing charges...a different time clearly...the time at the CIB ball game in Walkerton when I gave him heck for booking that awful motel...and when I asked him had he not noticed how awful the beds were he replied he** no! I'm not staying here, I'm at the Holiday Inn! Where he did indeed have goldfish in his bathtub! I could go on...but at the end of the day we always had great times. To you Sylvia, and the rest of your family, we offer our sincere condolences, and being in Florida we will not be able to make it to the funeral, but our thoughts will be with you. Norm, Catfish, I tried to get this on the funeral home site but it would not open. If you can get this on the site thanks and if not to his wife.
During everyone's life you have several associates both professionally and personally but have very few true friends. Terry Hall, was my friend and I will never forget him.
He was a true Good Ol' Boy, actually one of the few legends among the GOBs. His nickname was "Animal" he was not hard to pick out of a crowd, a giant of a man, which contained a big heart.
Hericletus, 500BC said, "For every one-hundred men in battle, Eighty should never have been there, Ten are nothing more than targets, Nine are good fighters, Ah, but the one, One of them is a warrior and he will bring all the others back home."
Terry Hall was a warrior in his profession and in life. On behalf of Good Ol' Boys everywhere I can say, "We will miss him but we never forget him."

It is with shock & sorrow that we send this message of condolence to Terry's family. Sylvia, you remember how close our shift was at Oak Ridges. Terry would find the punch bowl at a shift party, spike it with vodka & stand back & watch the fun. We all played golf, hockey & softball together. Everything that Terry did involved fun & laughter, but also showed talent, innovation, good humour & camaradarie. As an investigator he was very special. But I can still see him riding across Hwy 7 on the Harley on Sunday morning & opening the cruiser door & start talking to a very startled shift member. You just never knew. RIP brother Hall. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are rare an amazing people who remind you why it's worth it ! Terry was an amazing man! He reminded me always why it was worth it ! Terry had the ability to make his friends feel special in their own way. He had the time for everyone or would make time. He knew what was important in life and lived life to the fullest,in the true sense of the word. It has been an honour to have Terry as my true friend an mentor. I have the honor of being named after this gentle giant. Terry was, by far, one of the biggest people I have ever met, but his heart and his personality were ten times the size of his body. You never wanted to leave the room if Terry was present because he always knew how to make you laugh, give advice or offer words of encouragement at the perfect time. I worked with Terry when he was with the Golden Helmets Motorcycle Squad. We were in Aylmer at the Ont. Police College for a week of training. Terry was a wonderful man, his smile would light up any room.He was always cheerful and kind to me and all of the other riders on the squad. His reputation as an investigator was well known to all of the officers on the OPP. My condolences to all of his family

Sylvia and Family, My heartfelt condolences in the loss of Terry. He was a wonderful man -- he lived his life fully, giving to his family, friends and work. And, he made time for the things he loved, the adventures you both loved. He has a special place in my heart, and his support of both Freebie and me will never be forgotten. There is a huge hole in all of our hearts, yet it is filled with love and memories of a really wonderful man. Love, Carol
