Obituary of Nickolas Ens

Ens, Nickolas of R.R.2, Aylmer peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Eiginna (Pappenfoot) Ens. Loving father of Shirley Hodgson and husband Paul of Nairn, Ed Ens and wife Mary of Straffordville, Fred Ens and wife Jeanne of R.R.# 5 Aylmer , Bertha Wolf of Parkhill, Ted Ens of Michigan, Paul Ens and wife MaryLee of Straffordville and Mark Ens and wife Glenna of Belmont. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Mary Zimmer and husband Tony, Agnes Stickel, Peter Ens and wife Irene, Hilda Zimmer and husband Ed, Bertha Strickland and husband Brent, Josephine Fehr and Fred Ens. Brother-in-law of Tom Robinson. Predeceased by an infant son David, a brother Edward, a sister Clara Robinson, daughter-in-law Lisa, brothers-in-law John Stickel and Jake Fehr and a sister-in-law Diana Ens. Born in Ukraine on September 27, 1923, son of the late Alex and Ema (Brodt) Ens. Nick was a lifelong farmer. He was a wheat farmer in Saskatchewan before moving to Malahide Township where he grew tobacco and cash crop. Nick was active in the community. He was a former school board trustee, a member of Malahide Fire Dept and St. John's Lutheran Church Council. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
