Most of you viewing these messages will not know who the Watters family are. Tim and his family lived just a few houses away from us in North Bay. Tim along with many other kids from the neighbourhood spent many fun hours on the rinks that Dad made each year. Sandra Watters is a bit older than Tim, and provided babysitting services for mom and dad for a few years. Tim is an optometrist now, and lives in Dauphin, Manitoba with his wife and two children.

Dear Mrs. Fredrick, John, Nancy, Peter and Bob. I am so sorry to hear about your husband and dad passing away. I have many very fond memories of Mr. Fredrick. I am thankful for him spending many cold nights outside flooding the rink so all the kids could play hockey. The side of the garage and window would take such a beating during the winter months. Then when spring came he would be out planting his massive garden. He would take such pride in his garden and his yard. Then there was the year he asked me to cut the lawn when you where away on holidays. I unfortunately cut it the morning of one of the hottest days of the summer. The lawn turned brown and stayed that way for the rest of the summer. He was never mad at me for that, at least he did not show it. I will always remember his smile and laugh. He always had a grin (devilish at times) and his laugh was infectious. The person Mr. Fredrick was I am sure he is already sitting beside God in heaven. Probably telling him “don’t let that Watters kid cut your lawn”. Respectfully, Tim Watters

Dear Isobel, Ginette and Gerry Richer wishes to express their deepest sorrows for walters passing. Walter was always a great person to talk to and his laughter/stories of his Ontario Hydro days will be missed. I recall with fond memories his days of borrowing my utility trailer to fill up with corn to feed the swans at the Police College Bird sanctuary. I have passed this information over to June MacDonald at Echo Bay and hopefully they will be contacting you soon. Love/Regrets Gerry/Ginette Richer

Dear Isobel and family. Walter's picture just jumped off the page in the Nugget today (May 12th) - it was such a shock although not a real surprise. He was such a gentleman and gentle man. Like so many others, I looked upon him as a very good friend. I will miss him in my heart. Much love to you all in your loss.
