Mr. and Mrs. Gilson, I was so saddened to receive the news about Tom. I wish that I could pay my respects in person, unfortunately as I currently live in Montreal it is not possible. I met Tom in 1986 thru Carleen and although I have not seem much of him lately I have many happy memories of him in earlier years. I hope that you have whatever is needed to get you through this extremely difficult time. I know that you are surrounded by many family and friends and I pray that you are able to find comfort in that.

When I opened the London Free Press this morning I saw a face I hadn't seen in many years, that of your beloved Tom. Tom and I were friends in residence at Lambton College and I remember him as being one of the nicest, happiest guys in residence. He was an all-round good friend and nice guy whom everyone liked. Dear Karleen and family, I worked with Tom at Ryder Truck Rental several years ago and was deeply saddened to read of his accident. Tom was always enjoyable to work with, always had a friendly hello and time to chat. He treated everyone the same, whether you wore a suit or coveralls, and will always be fondly remembered. It has been a number of years since I have talked with Tom (Gilly), but today I have spent a lot of time remembering the fun times and the serious times that we shared. I am at a loss for words and in shock. I last met Tom in St. Thomas this past summer and we shared some drinks and caught up, which was time well spent. I knew Tom from Aylmer and it was a pleasant surprise when I met him again in Sarnia where we both attended Lambton College and I certainly have good memories of that period. I remember Tom as a great person who could light up the room and as a guy who was always interested in what you were up to in life.
