Please accept my deepest condolences at this time. Don was a great friend to our family and his kindness will not be forgotten. To Marjorie, Karen, Penny, and Mike, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult period. I know your strong faith will be a blessing. To Curtis and Devon, you were very lucky boys to have such a wonderful grandfather and I know you have many wonderful memories of your times together. I am deeply sorry that I cannot come to the visitation or the service as I have a previous commitment which requires me to be out of town today and tomorrow. Mrs. Hilliker, Karen, Mike, Penny, and family, my sincerest condolences. Mike, I have such fond and vivid memories of your dad right from the time of some of my earliest memories (walking across the field from Marchant Street) but chief among them have to be your dad's heroic efforts in building the ultimate backyard baseball "stadium" complete with that huge backstop and the home run fence made from the snow fence. I also remember what a big hockey fan your dad was. As I recently mentioned to you, how many people can recount where they were 30 years ago when Darryl Sittler had his 10 point game? I have your mom and dad to thank for that. As we played our own game of "superball hockey" in your kitchen, I can recall your mom and dad calling to us each time Sittler collected yet another point. I hope your own memories help ease the pain a bit. I'm sorry I can't be with you right now but I'll see you all soon. With my deepest sympathies, David
