Brian Baldwin
Memories
I met Brian around 1958/9 at the Baptist Church youth club in Southall Middlesex England. He had just moved to live with his Aunt after the tragic death of his Mum. He was born in Margate Kent. He lived just a couple of streets away from me in Southall and we became firm friends. There were 5 of us in all and we used to take it in turns at our houses, where we played cards and listened to records on a Sunday afternoon, before having tea and then disappearing to the local dance hall. We toured the local dance halls listening to live music. We followed 2 bands every Saturday above Burton’s the tailors in Uxbridge, Middx. They alternated each week, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes and Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers. We saw the future members of Cream. Watched the formation of The Rolling Stones and Yardbirds. Saw the Beatles in Jersey when they were just starting out. So that was it for the next 9 years until Brian emigrated to Canada in, I think 1967. We remained friends exchanging letters for a few years, real letters not email. We met up when he visited a couple of times and then we lost contact with each other.
Then came the Internet and Friends Re-United. I went looking and found Brian. So I sent him an email and we re-connected. When he returned to the UK with Janet he then used to come and visit us in Buckinghamshire and one visit to Cornwall and we also had the pleasure of visiting Orangeville and Florida. Two great holidays.
Brian was a real gentleman, generous and caring. Very easy to get along with. I am so pleased to have met him and so sorry to have now lost him. Our thoughts are with Brian’s wife Janet and also Brian and Janet’s families at this sad time. Fond memories Pauline and Ken Chapell

Treasured memories of holidays spent together in Canada and England. Always full of fun and laughter and a loving husband to Janet and the extended family.
He will be greatly missed but he lived his life to the full.
