Kelly, Helen Rose of Aylmer passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Monday, January 30th, 2023 in her 91st year. Loving wife and best friend of the late Cy Kelly (2016).  Proud mother of Anne Marie Kelly, Kathy van Kasteren(Jack), Barbara Kelly and Stephen Kelly(Sandi). Loving grandma of Jessica, Tom (Trish), Jill, Aaron(Tereza), Daniel, Forrest and Victoria.  Proud great-grandma of Sonny, Kash, Thane, Dettler, Cara and Lina.  Survived by sisters Marg (John) Moylan and Jean Coyne and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Klachan. Predeceased by her brother Stan Klachan and his wife Joyce and brother Steve Klachan. 

Born in Blenheim on May 18, 1932, the loving daughter of the late Stephen and Theresa Klachan of Aylmer, Ontario. Helen was a life-long member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Aylmer and a member of the C.W.L. Helen grew up in the Aylmer area on her parent’s tobacco farm and attended Dunboyne one room school and the Aylmer High School.  In 1953, Helen graduated as a Registered Nurse from St Joseph’s School of Nursing, London, Ontario. Helen started her nursing career at the St Thomas Elgin General Hospital in 1953. The last 20 years of her career at the Aylmer Nursing Home and then Chateau Gardens.  Helen loved being a nurse and was dedicated to her profession. Helen and Cy were married for over 60 years and together created Cy’s Lanes and Lounge. "To mom: family was everything and we were blessed to have such an amazing role model. The legacy you leave to family and friends will live on through Cy's and your people." 

Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the East Elgin Community Assistance Program (Aylmer Corner Cupboard) or the Aylmer Minor Baseball Association would be appreciated.
