Obituary of Steve Bloetjes
Bloetjes, Stephen William of Dorchester passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday March 28, 2023 in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of 36 years to Christine(Groat) Bloetjes. Dear father of Jessica Boekhorst(Detmer) of Thedford, Nicole Bloetjes of Dorchester and Shelley White(Joe) of Kinkora. He will be greatly missed by his grandsons Daniel, Lucas, Nathan and Nolan. Brother of John(Liz), Mike(Jackie), Mary Ellen(Wayne Garner), Ed(Lesley) and Ron(Karen Ann). Brother-in-law of Mike Groat(Cindy), Steve Groat(Michelle) and Vickie Davis(Jeff). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Son-in-law of the late Doug and Betty Groat. Born in Listowel, Ontario on May 31, 1961, son of the late Case and Corrie (Bontje) Bloetjes. Steve was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grampa. He was a true friend to everyone who knew him and would help out in any situation. He was passionate about farming and loved his time on the farm or in a tractor. When he wasn’t farming or playing with his grandsons, he enjoyed four wheeling, campfires in the woods, playing cards and a good visit with a rum and diet Pepsi. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.; please dress casually. Private interment, Dorchester Union Cemetery. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held following the funeral service at the Dorchester Optimist Hall(1653 Richmond St, Dorchester, ON N0L 1G0) at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Donnybrook Legion or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
