Obituary of Terry Komejan
Komejan, Trijntje “Terry” of St. Thomas passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late David Komejan. Dear mother of Diana Komejan (Ian Pineau) of La Have, Nova Scotia; Michael Komejan (Linda) of Dunnville; Ellen Komejan (Rick Epp) of Costa Rica and Wendy Beck (Andy) of Aylmer. Loving grandmother of Sarah (Frank), Robert (Adele), Nicole, Alicia, Broc (Michelle), Bret (Amanda), Emily, Alanna, Andrea (Chuck), Mariah (Guilio), Justina (Rick). Great-grandmother of Lucas, Lauren, Elliot, Wesley, Lainey, Louie, Theo, Junie, Macy, Rocco and Buck. Survived by her brothers Martin Bootsman (Jennette) and Gary Bootsman. She will be missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her oldest son Brian Komejan and sisters Aaffien Van Mil; Geertje “Grace” Veltkamp and Marta Veltkamp. Born in The Netherlands, Terry immigrated to Canada with her entire family in 1953 where she met and married her husband David in December 1956. Mom was a homemaker, hobby farmer and avid gardener. She enjoyed being outdoors camping, biking, swimming, walking and travelling. She loved photography and was always taking pictures. She always had a trusted companion by her side, several dogs, all named 'Lady'. She was always active in her church community, previously at Maranatha Reformed Church in Wainfleet, and currently at Knox Presbyterian Church in St. Thomas. At Terry's request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or Knox Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
