Obituary of Russell Swinton

Swinton, Russell of Port Stanley passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in his 73^rd year. Beloved husband of Diane(Terpstra) Swinton. Dear step-father of Bryanna(Shane), Jonathan and grandfather of Bryn and Sawyer. He will be missed by his sister Lizbeth(Stewart), brother John(Kathleen) and a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 21, 1952, son of the late William and Elizabeth(Richardson) Swinton. Russell played professional soccer before entering the police force in Scotland. In the 1980s he came to Ontario and later worked at Steelway as a supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, carpentry and gardening.  Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday from 5-8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the Our Lady of Sorrows R.C.
