Our deepest condolences go out to Pat, Michael, Mark, Nikki and families. I met Don in 1972 at The Haileybury School of Mines and we became life-long friends. I must say Don and I drank a few bottles of Cold Turkey during those two years in Haileybury and had many deep conversations while looking out over Lake Temiskaming. We had many discussions even though we had opposite opinions and Don would always say " But I can understand what you are saying!" Don and I worked together in Elsa, Yukon and also in Cassidy Lake in New Brunswick. Even though we have lived apart now for almost 30 years, Don would always call me when he was waiting to catch a flight to Yukon or Belize just to check in and see what I was up to. I will certainly miss those calls and hearing his voice on the line. He was planning a trip to Newfoundland and I was hoping to see him again but that wasn't to be. Goodbye Don and Rest in Peace my FRIEND.

Don was a real good visitor and great conversationalist. Not many could keep up with Don’s hard work ethic and family first attitude. He was an inspiration to me. I’m going to miss his phone calls and the bike rides. My sincere condolences to Pat and his family.
