Many fond childhood memories of Mrs. Kilgour and the chance meetings we had later in life when I would catch up with her on what Brenda was doing. To Brenda, Bob and the rest of the family - my sincere sympathies on the loss of your mom - may your memories help comfort you at this time.

We didn't ever really get a chance to know our Auntie Louise because of the distance between our homes. I know that my Mom (Alice) loved her Walyor sisters, and they were certainly a fun loving bunch. Family seemed to be a very important thing for them. I offer Louise's family Peace and Joy during these moments of sadness.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Although I only met my Aunt Louise a few times, I recall her as very kind and fun-loving person.
It was quite a crazy time when Louise (and all her sisters) and Art were in Regina for a wedding. I recall a water fight breaking out in the back yard, and a chase down street.
The Walyor sisters certainly liked to have a good time!
Our thoughts of love are with your family at this time.....

I spent many weekends on the Kilgour family farm playing with Barbie dolls and singing in the hay barn. Louise took the time to teach me how to sew. I remember her showing Brenda and I how to make a pair of shorts. I had to tear those shorts apart 5 times. Louise was a very patient teacher and her sewing skills were amazing. I will never forget the wonderful times I had at the Kilgour farm.
