Obituary of Jim Buis
JAMES [JIM] LEE BUIS passed away on April 11th, 2024 after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Brenda [Maracle] Buis. Treasured father to MacKenzie and Trinity Buis, Brittany and Tory Marr, Jessie and Ashly Buis and Quincy Buis. Proud ‘Papa Jim’ to 10 beautiful grandchildren, he will be remembered fondly by Iris, Violet, James, Parker, Grace, Norah, Miles, Jasper, Tyson and Jacob.
Born August 28, 1964, in St. Thomas, Jim is survived by his mother Nellie Buis(late Richard Buis) and his loving siblings, John and Joyce, Ron and Caroline, Larry and Irene, Murray and Judy, and Nancy. He will be deeply missed as an uncle by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Sharon Buis and brother-in-law Dennis Dwyer.
A Farmer his entire life, he could fix just about anything, as long as it didn’t have to look pretty, he could complain about any weather and was a loving companion with a gentle heart to many dogs and barn kitties. He loved spending time with his family, was happiest in the woods cutting firewood or fishing any time the weather allowed. His wit and clever sense of humour made him a favourite amongst neighbours, and anyone he crossed paths with.
‘Bubba’ will be deeply missed by many friends who shared in creating countless memories on spring and fall fishing trips and countless hands of cards.
Let gratitude for time spent together and laughs shared bring you strength and comfort through this time. Remember me not in passing but in a life well lived.
The family will be accepting visitation on Tuesday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home in Aylmer. A private family service will take place at a later date.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at the London Regional Cancer Clinic, CarePartners in home nursing staff, and the staff at the VON Sakura House, Oxford Community. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sakura House Hospice are suggested. Share memories and condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
